Great to see young USA ripper Jake Marshall take the prestigious victory at the Quiksilver King Of The Groms event in Hossegor, France. Jake hovered around the top of the leader board over the three preliminary rounds, and once in the final against fellow FCS team mate Kanoa Igarashi and Euro’s rising star Leonardo Fioravanti, he nailed the single-wave win with a solid backhand double hit combo.
The KOTG event is regarded as a yardstick for future champions, and the spotlight is now pointed directly at Jake with hopes he’ll follow in the footsteps of previous winners like Gab’s Medina. In the final Jake was running the popular AM-3 template, while Kanoa and Leo were both running the new FCS II system with the Performer PC and Carver PCC templates respectively.
Overall the FCS team grommets fared well in the event and a notable mention should also go to Kai Hing, Jack Robinson and Jacob Willcox. Well done boys!
