If you want a glimpse into what the future holds for female surfing, you needn't look any further than Sky Brown. Since she was a micro-grom, Brown has rewritten what the sport can look like, bringing a world-class skateboarding approach straight into the ocean. Born in Miyazaki, Japan, and competing for Great Britain, she made history at 13 years and 11 days old as the youngest athlete ever selected for a Team GB Summer Olympics, breaking a record that had stood since 1928. She backed it up with a bronze medal in skateboard park at Tokyo 2020, then did it again at Paris 2024, fighting through a dislocated shoulder to make the podium a second time.

While the accolades keep stacking up on the skateboard, it's her surfing that grabbed FCS's attention. She throws airs with the same ease she brings to a half-pipe, and has no problem packing a cavern at Pipeline alongside fellow junior stars like Jackson Dorian. She's twice been crowned World Skateboarding Champion, in 2023 and 2025, and she's chasing an even bigger goal: qualifying for LA 2028 in both skateboarding and surfing, the two sports she refuses to choose between.
